The Department of Planning and Zoning  - Serves as a resource on zoning, subdivision of property, development regulation and issues, population and socio-economic data, and similar material relating to the growth and development of Cherokee County.

Building Department - The mission of the Building Department is to protect the investment of property owners by providing inspection services on residential and commercial buildings in an effort to ensure compliance with the minimum provisions of mandatory building codes as required by state law; the enforcement of which provides for the health, safety and welfare of the general public, tax payers and citizens of Cherokee County.    

The North Georgia Health District - Part of the division of Public Health in Georgia. This District is comprised of six counties including Cherokee, Fannin, Gilmer, Murray, Pickens, and Whitfield County. Many programs and services exist throughout the district all of which are designed to meet the needs of the people of North Georgia.

Alcoholic Beverage Licenses - The Marshal's Office issues all alcoholic beverage licenses and permits for the unincorporated Cherokee County.

GIS Mapping - The Cherokee County GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Department's mission is to support and service other county departments and the public by maintaining and providing spatial information in the form of paper maps, digital maps, and database format.

Fire Marshall - The Cherokee County Fire Marshal’s Office is involved in fire prevention and fire protection activities related to both new and existing occupancies. We strive to enhance fire and life safety for all persons who live, work, and visit Cherokee County, Georgia through effective public education and cooperation in the review of land development, building construction, and analysis of fire protection systems.

Occupation Tax Certificate - Any person engaged in any business, trade, profession, or occupation and located in unincorporated Cherokee County is required to register their business with the county and obtain an occupation tax certificate.
